I just asked a friend how she celebrates Thanksgiving being so far away from family. She said they have steak with all the typical Thanksgiving side dishes. I love that! I would have never thought to "break" that tradition. But they just like steak better and she doesn't want to cook a bird.

i made a new tradition for Halloween that i'm really excited about. after trick-or-treating,afton trick-or-treated our bedroom door and got a book! i had The Monster at the End of This Book tucked away for xmas but wanted to end the holiday on a non-candy note and this was perfect. i love finding reasons to give books to my kids.
